Mnemonics

There are many ways to help us remember better. One of the way is mnemonics. Mnemonics is a very general word. One of the meaning is a method or system for improving the memory. Mnemonics also means a device for memorising and recalling something or sytematics procedure for enhancing memory, there particular use is in developing better ways to take in (encode) information so that it will be much easier to remember . The word comes from Greek mnemonikos which refer to the mind. Mnemonics divided into many techniques such as Acronyms, sentences/acrostics, list order acronyms and many more. All this technique can increase our memory to remember easier.

First technique is taking the initial letters of each word spells. It do not spell out a word but each initial corresponds to a word beginning with the same letter. Such mnemonics are generally used to memorise the order of list of items. For example most people with even a passing interest in astronomy are familier with names of the planets in the solar system: Earth, Jupiter, Mars, Mercury, Neptune, Pluto, Saturn, Uranus and Venus. Can you remember the order of this planets in average distance from the sun?. Using mnemonics technique, remember the order of this planet is very simple
